Our student information system is how families register in their student(s) each fall and pay for club fees and before and after school care. You’ll need your username and password; email emily.k@schoolofnorthernlights.org if you’ve forgotten yours.

When conflict arises in our community, our practice is to address the issue with the person closest to the situation. For example, teachers and families should communicate directly regarding academic and social concerns. Teachers and families should communicate with the Director of Community Relations or the School Leader if the matter remains unresolved. School administration will coordinate a meeting with the affected parties and the Board of Directors when appropriate.

Plan based on requirements set forth in MN Statute 120A.414
In the event of a school closure due to inclement weather, students in grades 7 and above will participate in “E-Learning.” Up to five days in one school year can be counted as instructional days with E-Learning when school is closed due to weather conditions. E-Learning will only be required for students in grades 7 and above due to the additional required number of instructional hours for these grades.
E-Learning days will be announced in conjunction with school closure announcements for students in grades K-6 through JMC and social media, no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the school day.
E-Learning days will include time when teachers are online working directly with students (synchronous) as well as choice boards for students to work on asynchronously. Teachers (both general classroom teachers and Special Rights teachers) will communicate with students and families regarding synchronous meeting times, how to connect with staff for support during asynchronous learning times, to provide choice boards, and to provide any necessary accommodations for students with Special Rights. Teachers will be accessible online and by telephone during normal school hours.
Families communicate students’ access to internet-connected devices at the start of each year. Plans to accommodate students without internet-connected devices at home will be developed in consultation with each family.
Students in grades 7 and above not participating in E-Learning will be considered excused absent.

St. Paul School of Northern Lights is thriving at our new space at 768 Hamline Ave. S. in Highland.
Lead Testing
Lead Testing Information for 768 Hamline Ave. S.
Lead testing in the water at 768 Hamline Ave. S. was conducted in 2023. Fixtures that showed elevated lead levels were re-tested in October of 2024 as lead in plumbing fixtures can add to a person’s overall lead exposure. A summary of these results is linked above. Taps that tested at or above 5 ppb were either designated as not for consumption or are remediated with flushing and aerator cleaning (effective at reducing lead levels with the tested fixtures). Re-testing of these fixtures occurred in December of 2024. Results are available here. Fixtures at or above 5ppb continue to be marked as not for consumption or are remediated with daily flushing. Daily flushing has shown to be an effective method to reduce lead in the water.

Breakfast & Lunch Costs
Breakfast: $0.00
Lunch: $0.00
Breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Students must take all meal components to receive free meals. A la carte meal items are not available at this time.

Nutrition Education
St Paul School of Northern Lights strives to expand students’ knowledge of nutrition, sustainability, and food preparation in our classrooms, cafeteria, learning kitchen, and outdoor classroom. Information on our progress towards aligning with the school’s Wellness policy and federal requirements is detailed in the triennial assessment.
Meal Ordering
St. Paul School of Northern Lights orders cold breakfast and hot lunch from Café Racer. Meals that are ordered but are not served are charged to the school. Because of this, any student that signs up for school meals for the month will be asked to take a school meal each day, even if they bring a lunch from home. Please help us prevent food waste by keeping us updated on your students’ plans for school meals. Meals are ordered by month. Changes must be submitted by the 23rd of the prior month through the form linked above. Students may order either regular hot lunches or vegetarian lunches. Gluten/dairy free or vegan meals may be ordered only for students with Special Diet Statements on file in the office.
