E-Learning Plan

Plan based on requirements set forth in MN Statute 120A.414

In the event of a school closure due to inclement weather, students in grades 7 and above will participate in “E-Learning.” Up to five days in one school year can be counted as instructional days with E-Learning when school is closed due to weather conditions. E-Learning will only be required for students in grades 7 and above due to the additional required number of instructional hours for these grades.

E-Learning days will be announced in conjunction with school closure announcements for students in grades K-6 through JMC and social media, no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the school day.

E-Learning days will include time when teachers are online working directly with students (synchronous) as well as choice boards for students to work on asynchronously. Teachers (both general classroom teachers and Special Rights teachers) will communicate with students and families regarding synchronous meeting times, how to connect with staff for support during asynchronous learning times, to provide choice boards, and to provide any necessary accommodations for students with Special Rights. Teachers will be accessible online and by telephone during normal school hours.

Families communicate students’ access to internet-connected devices at the start of each year. Plans to accommodate students without internet-connected devices at home will be developed in consultation with each family.

Students in grades 7 and above not participating in E-Learning will be considered excused absent.
